Gluten free pâté for dogs with kidney problems
A healthy dog’s kidneys have lots of responsibilities to keep your dog healthy, from removing toxins to maintaining their blood pressure and helping to create new red blood cells. When renal function is impaired, the kidneys cannot perform as well as before. Proper nutrition is the cornerstone in managing kidney disease. Specially formulated diets for kidney conditions are designed to help reduce workload on the kidneys, enabling them to function more effectively.
For that purpose, we have developed Renal, pâté with pork, chicken and rice, to support your dog's renal function and bladder health. It contains reduced phosphorus levels to slow down the progression of the renal failure, and restricted protein levels to reduce the stress on the kidneys. Because of the good digestibility of the available proteins, the product still delivers all needed amino acids for muscle maintenance. Potassium citrate is added to lower the risk of forming calcium oxalate stones and to reduce the risk of high levels of acids in body fluids. It promotes desirable urine pH levels and is low in sodium to help reduce the risk of bladder stones. In addition to that, Renal contains inulin, a source of fructo-oligosaccharides, prebiotic which helps to support healthy digestion. This recipe is gluten free and therefore also suitable for dogs with gluten intolerances.
